Preserving the art form
In an era of consuming movies via streaming, the inevitable fate of 35mm movie theaters seems to be coming to end… or not. In this documentary, you’ll hear stories from some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed filmmakers and lovers of the celluloid movie-theater experience; talking about their passion and memories of going to the cinema–and also, how much the impact of losing that space can hurt this art form in the future.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
More than just a frame
In every story, there are those who fight the right fight. Using our interviews, discussions, stories about their experiences at the movies and in some cases, their fight to keep celluloid alive. We will create a way to show the audience that a movie theater is more than just a place to watch a film. Whether it is a large or small space, the opportunity to have people congregate, and enjoy the vision of the director plastered on the big screen–it is to most filmmakers the highest honor and during these worldwide harsh times, quite a privilege.
As a filmmaker and cinema aficionado; it’s very important for me to show the audience something else besides the controversy surrounding the preference of digital vs. print projections at a movie theater. What is at stake is the sense of a communal place in which people from different backgrounds gather together under one roof and for a moment–they connect in a collective stream of consciousness.
